When watching the movie in class today i seen how people can be so desperate to be famous or to suceed in life that they will sell themselves out to do so. i do not believe in selling yourself shot for someone to make money off of you and for you to be someone you truely not and that movie was basiclly showing that thoughout the whole movie.

We had presentations today on famous people or people that ment something in the past history and still today.  Jim Thorpe was the most interesting person to me. He was the best athlete and 3 different sports and was an amazing person off the field. the fact that i like sports alot i think is the main reason it caught my eye other then the fact he won gold medals in many different sports.

Sterotype when it comes to race was a point that was brought up in class..i feel that people base there opinions on people because how they was raised and taught to look at a certian race. its not fair nor is it right to be like that in my opinion.

class on 3-28-11

 In class we talked about media image and how people sometimes use words that could hurt others. like "thats gay". Those words might not mean anything to you but someone that is it could hurt. That being said after yesterdays class i am going to try to eliminate those type of sayings from my vocabulary, i seen it from another view which makes sense and people should not say those types of things especialy out in public.

     We watched a movie called NCSI I have never watched it before and i kind aliked it. I'm into crime solving shows and ones that have some mystery. I plan on watching that show a little more now that i see what it is about.

     We watched a movie in Mondays class called "The Women". Its a movie about females that live high class lives and are very close friends. Alot a Femininity took place in the beginning of the movie such as the gossip, high maintance, prissy, style, arguing, and compitition. Those traits come with being a female as we all know; which is also why girls are the way they are.

     When we watch the movie on the older males trying to take advantage of the little boys really caught my eye. The fact that back in the 50's and 60's there was still a problem with people being raped up untll now is just crazy. I think we as a United States should take more pride and try harder to put a stop to that. Things like that scar people for life, it ruins them inside an out. Living like thats not fair when you live in a country where your rights are free. Living here in a free country you should be happy and proud, not worrying about whos watching or following you.

We watched a movie called Veronica Mars. The way that they catogorized race, gender and social class stuck out like crazy. I never really looked at socitey like i am starting to now, its like im looking at it as if its in a glass ball; seeing people and watching how they seperate themselves from others is kinda interesting. I wonder what the world would be like if people didnt do that and there wasnt no certain type of class.

     Power was one of the main words that suck with me from last class period. For only being a 5 letter word it means and  holds so much value. being able to have control of something or someone could be good an bad at the same time. it could bring u alot of success to, when you have power you eventually become recognized and that being said if the right people see that you have power you could really benefit from it. it can also bring problems such as, hatered, drama, and people trying to bring you down. to me tho power is somehtign not al people have; if your lucky enough to have power i say use it to your advantage.

Monday's class 1-24-11

     Last class we went over some definitions towards the end of class. After listing a few a definition came up that was "Counter Culture", it mean's that it is a culture outside of the normal such as, face piercings, tattoos, different hair colors ect. that definition stood out the most to me because in today's world it seems like there are more people starting to become part of that culture. Weather they believe that it is a better way to live, to compensate pain, get attention, or simply because that is just them. It's like people were shy at first to show there true inner colors but now that a good amount of people are beside them doing the same thing, more people are being more open with it.
